Could you be passionate about building high quality, durable boats? Do you like working with your hands? You could work in Fibreglass Construction. Fibreglass is light and strong. As the technology develops, more boatbuilders are turning to Fibreglass in preference to more traditional materials.

In Fibreglass construction, you will be working with advanced techniques to build solid and laminated Fibreglass hulls for motor cruisers or yachts.

You will build a plug and mould and then hand-lay every hull with solid Fibreglass and laminates, including a system of transverse and longitudinal bearers for strength and precise handling. You may also apply other innovative Fibreglass construction technologies.

While building Fibreglass boats, you will learn to work with resins such as gel coats. After rigorously testing the boat for leaks, you will prepare it for fitting the rest of its components.
