New Apprenticeships in Metal Fabrication or Engineering Production provide you with training to kickstart your career. At the completion of your Apprenticeship you will be given an industry qualification that is recognized throughout Australia, both inside and outside the industry.

You may even begin through the study of vocational courses at school and sometimes companies offer either a school based apprenticeship continuing into a full-time apprenticeship or a school based traineeship preceding a full apprenticeship. See your Careers Counsellor for details.

During your Apprenticeship, you could specialise in Metal Components for boats by seeking experience working for a Boating Component manufacturer.

Wages
Pay rates for trainees in Component Manufacture are determined by Federal and State Awards. Your pay rate will be dependent upon the enterprise activity of your potential employer and you will need to discuss wage rates with them.
