If you love racing yachts or skiffs and would like to make them sail faster and perform better in all conditions, you might like to work in Sail Construction.

The designer determines the shape and materials to be used in a sail, but the Sailmaker has the more hands-on job of producing the final article.

In Sail Construction, you will use not only precise manual skills, but also advanced technology and computer aided design (CAD) programs to implement designs and plot and cut sails.

You will work closely with sailcloth suppliers to implement their latest technological advances in sailcloth and design. You will experiment in the latest fibres and lamination systems and consult champion sailors to develop and produce a first class finished sail.
