The powerful diesel engines, stern-drive and inboard engines on boats all need experts to make repairs when they are needed. If you are good at tinkering with engines and love working outdoors, you could become invaluable on a busy slipway.

You would be required to service engines and their components, cooling systems, petrol fuel systems, clutch assemblies, propeller drive systems, jet drive propulsion systems and steering systems.

You will take repaired boats on sea trials and monitor all aspects of their performance.

An engine failure at sea can be extremely dangerous so your attention to detail and safety will be critical to ensuring that high quality standards are met in this challenging but rewarding field.
