In Slipway Operations, you will be responsible for organizing all the many jobs performed in a busy slipway. Boats will be brought to you for service, external repairs or storage. You will plan and coordinate work schedules, assign a dry storage for each boat, maintain a budget and ensure environmental requirements are fulfilled. You would employ a range of skilled subcontractors to overhaul a vessel, carrying out anti-fouling, sanding down, Fibreglass or timber repairs, repairs to engines, spray painting or polishing. You may operate equipment to lift boats from the water and transport them to a hard stand or dry storage, using a crane, travel-lift or forklift. As a Slipway Operations, you will hire, orient and train personnel in job duties, safety and environmental practices, employer policy and performance requirements. There are considerable responsibilities in this job, but the rewards are well worth the effort. |
